Before founding the firm, Mr. Zaslavsky was the Chief Operating Officer of Urban Shopping Centers, Inc., a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (NYSE:URB). Prior to joining Urban and its predecessor, JMB Realty Corporation, Mr. Zaslavsky was a corporate attorney at Katten, Muchin & Zavis (now Katten, Muchin, Rosenman LLP) in Chicago, Illinois. Meghan Otis, Principal Ms. Otis joined Waveland in 2000. Greg Maletsky, Vice President Mr. Maletsky joined Waveland in 2009. Mr. Maletsky previously worked at Leerink Swann & Company, a boutique investment bank with a focus in the healthcare industry, at Deloitte & Touche in the Financial Advisory Services Group, and at Valor Equity Partners, a lower-middle market private equity firm. Taryn Goldstein, Chief Financial Officer Ms. Goldstein joined Waveland in 2005. Ms. Goldstein has held several accounting and financial-related positions, including Vice President – Portfolio Management at JMB Realty Corporation and Controller at the Balcor Company. Ms. Goldstein began her career as an auditor at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. Phil Calian, Operating Partner Mr. Calian joined Waveland in 2003. He currently serves as an Operating Partner and is actively involved in the management of several portfolio companies. Previously, Mr. Calian was the founder and Managing Partner of Kingsbury Partners, a private equity and consulting firm focused on providing capital and ownership skills to middle market distressed businesses. Prior to founding Kingsbury Partners in 2002, Mr. Calian worked with Chicago investor and entrepreneur Mr. Sam Zell since 1990 where he successfully oversaw and executed business turnarounds and restructurings at American Classic Voyages Co., a travel and leisure company, and CFI Industries Inc., a plastic packaging company. Mr. Calian has been CEO of publicly traded companies from 1994 to 2002.
