In September 2009, Waveland invested in Plumbing Master Services, a leading emergency repair plumbing services provider to many national retail chains including well-known restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations in Southern California. The company currently services customers in Los Angeles and San Diego and plans to expand to San Jose and San Francisco in 2010.

In May 2008, Waveland invested in RMS Technology Solutions, Inc., and in January 2009, Waveland invested in Avrio Group Surveillance Solutions, LLC. In 2009, Waveland merged the two businesses to form Avrio RMS Group. Avrio RMS Group is a national leader in IP-surveillance solutions for the public safety market. The company designs, engineers and deploys turnkey wireless security solutions for municipalities and organizations with wide area surveillance needs. A pioneer in the space, Avrio RMS Group created the nation's first pole mounted wireless surveillance camera systems known as PODSS® (Portable Over Digital Surveillance Systems) and developed the nation's most sophisticated wireless IP video network covering over 200 square miles. Avrio RMS Group deployments protect many U.S. cities and have secured VIP events such as the Presidential Inauguration, Democratic National Convention, Republican National Convention and the Superbowl.

In December 2007, Waveland partnered with existing ownership in a recapitalization of Justice Design Group to provide for the continued growth of the company. Justice Design is a designer, manufacturer and importer of decorative residential, hospitality, and commercial lighting. The company is the undisputed leader in the domestic ceramic lighting category. Justice Design is also a well-known provider of other high-quality lighting fixtures using various specialty materials such as translucent porcelain, faux alabaster, faux candle, and Venetian glass. Justice Design sells to over 1,500 lighting showrooms, electrical distributors, and hospitality purchasing agents across the United States and Canada.

In October 2004, Waveland partnered with management to purchase Hudson Lock, a leading manufacturer and distributor of medium security locks. Hudson, with its headquarters in Hudson, Massachusetts, serves the office furniture and hardware markets and its major customers include the nation’s largest office furniture manufacturers. Hudson, founded in 1963, also sells products to locksmith distributors under the ESP brand name.

In September 2004, Waveland invested in Indiana Business Bank (“IBB”). IBB is an Indianapolis-based de novo business bank. Seasoned Indiana banking professionals formed the bank to target small and medium sized business customers that continue to be displaced or underserved as a result of the consolidation in the banking industry in Indiana.

In December 2003, Waveland formed Clark Brands with the existing management team and an industry investor after purchasing the Clark gasoline family of brands through the bankruptcy process. Clark Brands licenses the Clark gasoline brand and other related brands to approximately 500 independent gasoline stations throughout the Midwest pursuant to a brand-licensing program. The Clark brand, in existence since 1932, is well known throughout Chicago and the Midwest.

In September 2001, Waveland participated in the first round of growth capital investment in Potbelly Sandwich Works. Waveland has invested in the two subsequent rounds of financing. Potbelly is a fast growing, quick-serve restaurant concept featuring hot sandwiches served in a fun, energetic and inviting atmosphere. Potbelly is aggressively pursuing expansion into other major markets across the United States. Waveland introduced this concept to Howard Schultz, the founder of Starbucks, and Dan Levitan, the Managing Partner of Seattle-based investment firm Maveron LLC. Maveron became an investor and both individuals joined Potbelly’s Board of Directors.

In August 2001, Waveland invested in Mell & Company, a company formed after acquiring Bob Mell & Company and Mel Newfield & Company, two affiliated companies in the business of marketing and supplying guest checks and related items to restaurants. Mell & Company sells to more than 16,000 independent restaurants nationwide.

In August 2003, Waveland purchased Comtel Pro Media in partnership with management and key industry investors. Comtel is the leading professional and data media distributor on the west coast. The company distributes media products such as Sony tape to movie houses, production studios and television shows. Comtel has a customer base of more than 2,500 companies.

In May 2003, Waveland partnered with Beverly Clark, the original founder of the company who had exited the business in 2000, and Portfolio Solutions to purchase the Beverly Clark Collection out of bankruptcy. The company is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers and distributors of wedding products. The company currently distributes to more than 3,000 wedding retailers countrywide.

In August 2001, Waveland in partnership with Focus Investments, LLC, formed Focus Products Group, LLC (“Focus”) to acquire the business and assets of AMCO Houseworks and Sensible Storage. AMCO Houseworks is a designer and manufacturer of houseware products that are sold to customers such as Crate and Barrel, Williams-Sonoma, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Sensible Storage is a designer, importer and distributor of storage products that are sold into mass-market retailers and club outlets, as well as smaller hardware and household stores.
Since the original transaction, Focus has done over ten additional acquisitions and significantly broadened it offerings. Focus today has grown to serve the hospitality, food service, and consumer markets. The company specializes in the design and marketing of functionally superior housewares, bakewear, personal care, storage systems and kitchen electrics. Focus’ current operating companies consist of :
